Suspected of taking a bribe for a forestry project, DPR member Al-Amin Nur Nasution is arrested by police. But the Forestry Minister defends the project.

AT 1am on Wednesday last week two men met in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Mega Kuningan area, South Jakarta. One was Al-Amin Nasution, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Forestry and Agriculture Commission, while the other was Azirwan, Regional Secretary of Bintan regency, Riau Islands. The KPK arrests the Bank Indonesia Governor.

THE world has rapidly changed for Burhanuddin Abdullah, 61. From his vast office in the heart of Jakarta, now this Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor has to share a cell with another inmate at the police detention center. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held him as a suspect in the misappropriation of central bank money on Thursday last week. (more…)

Yang satu bernama Al-Amin Nur Nasution, anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat dari Komisi Kehutanan dan Pertanian. Yang lain Azirwan, Sekretaris Daerah Kabupaten Bintan, Kepulauan Riau. Dunia berubah cepat bagi Burhanuddin Abdullah, 61 tahun. Dari kantornya yang luas di jantung Jakarta, kini Gubernur Bank Indonesia itu harus berbagi sel ruang tahanan Badan Reserse Kriminal Markas Besar Kepolisian Negara.
